December 28, 2009 at 2:27 p.m., our baby entered this world weighing 9 lbs. 2 oz. He was truly one of a kind; our pride and joy. He was loved, cherished, and adored by many. He quickly became affectionately known as “Papa.” He was the second child born to the fourth generation of our family, so he spent time with and brought joy to the lives of his mommy, daddy, grand parents, great grand parents and great-great grand mothers, just to name a few. Papa’s journey into this world was navigated by his auntie.

November 28, 2011 – Papa woke up spirited and full of life, as was his way. He spent the morning with mommy and daddy – just a lazy morning around the house. He took phone calls from grandpa and his gran-mommy – they called and spoke with him each day. He played around taking pictures on the Ipad with mommy and went about his day. Early afternoon, he left to spend the day with dad – this too was routine. Mommy dressed Papa and readied him for this day. Armed with a snack, prepared with love, his paci and his cup – Papa kissed mommy and waved goodbye. Papa headed off with his dad as he had many times before. There was no cause for concern so with no worries on her mind, mommy went about her day.

Although the loss of Papa wreaked havoc in our lives – we refuse to be broken. Papa was taken too soon and although he’s gone from this world – he will never be forgotten. He lives on in our spirits and motivates our family to move forward.
